Colourful Summer Mexican Travel Themed Wedding – The Heritage Hotel – Venue – Hanmer Springs – Sarah | Juan
Heritage Hanmer Springs Wedding; For whatever reason one visits Hanmer Springs, there are things you definitely have to do. Be it going for a walk in the stunning forests, go out for a meal or visit the thermal pools for a soak the hot water. Pip and I chose the hot pools as our way to relax the night before Sarah and Juan’s Wedding.
Come wedding day were as relaxed as ever and e ready to energised to face the day.
The night before the wedding, it had been raining and looked to continue into the wedding day. But alas it stopped and cleared overnight. The wedding day was a mixture of overcast weather with patches of sun. What a blessing for the wedding couple and us the wedding photographers. Guess what? The day after the wedding we woke up to rain again 🙂
The Girls Getting Ready – Heritage Hotel Lodge – Hanmer Springs
The girls got ready in one of the Villas at The Heritage Hanmer overlooking the lake. They got the bubbles flowing early on in the morning. It was all go from 8am, a very busy household – as a large number of girls (not just the bridal party) got their hair and makeup done – Ashleigh did an incredible job to get through them all and having them all ready at least a couple of hours before the ceremony. This left us with plenty of time for some relaxing and some really fun shots.
The Boys Getting Ready – Heritage Hotel Lodge – Hanmer Springs
The boys also got ready at another Villa overlooking the lake, luckily not looking into the girls Villa. The boys had had a very relaxing start to the day, some of them even getting to spend some time at the hot pools, and have a couple of whiskies. It never takes much for the guys to get ready, it’s more about trying to drag it out for the photos.
The Ceremony – Heritage Hanmer Springs Wedding Venue – Garden
Sarah and her Dad rode in his amazing car from the villa to the hotel reception and while the car went back to get the girls it gave us a chance to get some photos of Sarah and her Dad in the hotel lobby. Once all the girls were ready they made their way down the aisle, the weather was just perfect, a little bit of cloud cover came in just as the ceremony started so they didn’t melt up the front. Juan is from Mexico, so Sarah surprised everyone by reading her vows not only in English but Spanish too! There was hardly a dry eye around. It was a really lovely touch that they wanted to include family into the ceremony – they had Sarah’s sister and Juan’s Mum sign the register, both of them had travelled quite a distance to be there for the day. Junelle had come home from England where she now lives and Rossi had come over from Mexico.
Bridal Party Photos – Hanmer Spring Forest
Sarah and Juan had hired some Village cruiser bikes to use with the bridal party – lucky for us the car park right next to the hotel was pretty much empty so we took them into there giving them a good loop to race around literally! We then took the Bridal party to not just one but two beautiful spots in the Hanmer forest. There was so much to work with, we had a limit ourselves. The ‘in’ thing at the time of the wedding and was a massive craze on the internet was the mannequin challenge, so the bridal party came up with an idea to do one. One of the bridesmaid’s partners who was kind enough to drive them to the forest recorded it on Video! What a hoot! They were such an awesome bunch of people and truly made it so easy to us and so so much fun!
The Reception – Ballroom – Heritage Hotel – Hanmer Springs
The Reception was held in the Ballroom at The Heritage – was great having everything in one location. Sarah and Juan had chosen a travel theme and really vibrant colours – it’s not very often you see such bright colours at a wedding, but it really worked! To start the proceedings off everyone was given a tequila shots (a big love of Sarah and Juan)
Sarah’s sister was the MC for the evening – she was brilliant, kept everyone in check.
This for us was another one of those weddings that we could’ve easily staying and danced the night away with everyone – we really did have a blast.
