Kaiapoi Domain Engagement | Pre-Wedding Shoot

Kaiapoi Domain – Engagement – Pre-Wedding shoot – Jasmine & Nick

Kaiapoi Domain Engagement; We had arranged to meet Jasmine and Nick at the Kaiapoi Domain.

We chose this location because we wanted it to be somewhere close to home for them with Oliver and it’s somewhere that Jasmine walks through most days on her daily walk.

We met them late in the afternoon when the light was perfect, and the wind wasn’t too strong (luckily).

They brought Ollie along with them, making some super cute family photos in the mix and also some babysitting for me (YAY!, just call me clucky) he is deliciously adorable.

The Domain gave us lots of options to work with, but one can only do so much in a short space of time. On arrival at the domain, the sky was partly cloudy with intermittent periods of sunlight. Due to the continuous change in light, we decided to seek shelter under the beautiful big trees which provided diffused open shade natural light. Natural lighting is always the first choice for lighting when shooting outdoors.

Barked areas and open grass areas were other spots at our disposal. The big trees also provide some textured backgrounds. The domain also has hilly looking locations of which we had a play with one of them.

We loved the dress that Jasmine wore for the shoot as it almost resembled a style of wedding dress, and suited her well. Nick, on the other hand, chose to dress like an ordinary kiwi bloke would dress in the middle of summer, and he wore shorts, jandals and a t-shirt.

We shot different poses sitting, standing and walking to mix it up. We even included Oliver in some of the shots. Jasmine and Nick looked so relaxed together and got lost in each other’s company. With some direction and interaction, we got some cool looking photographs which pleased everyone involved.

After a bit of a catch up about their wedding plans, we said our goodbyes.
